MOPGEL is not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, established on March 13, 2000 by two Liberian journalists, with an idea rooted in the cultural and traditional practices in Liberia that denied the girl child, women and those with disabilities access to education and training

MOPGEL believes this situation is restricting these groups the ability to improve livelihoods, literacy and to make a better quality of life for themselves and their families. In most Liberian communities, women are the legal property of their husbands, unable to receive an inheritance, and are forced into early marriages.
